Le prochain séminaire du GAINS se tiendra le mardi 7 octobre 2025 de 10h30 à 12h00 en salle T204. Hugo Minnella (Le Mans Université, CEPREMAP, ECB) présentera « Policy Mix and Welfare in a TANK$^2$ Model of the Euro Area ».
Abstract: In this paper, I study welfare under alternative monetary–fiscal assignments in a two-country monetary union with Ricardian and hand-to-mouth (HtM) households. I build a two-country, two-agent DSGE (TANK$^2$) tailored for welfare analysis and characterize policy configurations that deliver determinacy. Although multiple assignments yield a unique equilibrium, they imply markedly different welfare and volatility outcomes within and across countries, highlighting the importance of joint monetary–fiscal design.
